Privacy Policy

Overview

Test My Phone ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you visit our website at testmyphone.online.

Client-Side Processing

All diagnostic tests on Test My Phone run entirely within your web browser. This means:

  • Camera and microphone access is handled directly by your browser's Web APIs.
  • Camera footage, microphone recordings, and raw sensor readings used by a diagnostic are processed locally and are not uploaded by Test My Phone.
  • Diagnostic result states and selected summary metrics are saved in your browser's localStorage so the report remains available after navigation.
  • Analytics, advertising, and the network-latency test involve separate external requests as described below.

Local Storage and Retention

Test results are stored locally under the key testmyphone-results. They persist after you close the tab and remain until you clear site data or overwrite them by running tests again. Test My Phone does not maintain a server-side database of these diagnostic results. Temporary camera snapshots and microphone recordings are kept in browser memory for the active page and are not added to localStorage.

Google Analytics and Journey by Mediavine

The site loads Google Analytics for usage analysis and Journey by Mediavine for advertising. These services may receive your IP address, browser/device information, pages visited, ad interactions, and cookie or similar identifier data. Google Analytics is used to understand site usage. Journey by Mediavine is used to serve and measure advertising.

For more information on how Google Analytics handles data, please visit Google's Privacy Policy.

For more information on how Journey by Mediavine handles data, please visit Journey by Mediavine's Privacy Policy.

Journey by Mediavine Advertising

The site uses Journey by Mediavine to serve and measure advertising. Loading advertising resources makes external requests; the provider may receive connection, browser/device and advertising interaction information and may use cookies or similar identifiers. This advertising is separate from local diagnostic media processing. Advertisements are not test results or diagnostic controls.

External Network Requests

The Internet Speed Test currently sends small requests to httpbin.org to estimate request latency and variation. That provider can receive normal connection data such as your IP address and user agent. The favicon, manifest, and ordinary site pages are requested from our hosting provider. Links you choose to open are governed by the destination site's privacy policy.

Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to third-party services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies independently.

Children's Privacy

Test My Phone is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
